ACACR Goal

1. To actively promote the intellectual interactions and collaborations among Chinese American cancer researchers in the North American area with extension to other cancer researchers regardless of their ethnic origins;
2. To effectively bridge the basic research with clinical oncology, therefore facilitating the translational research in cancer;
3. To bridge basic and translational cancer research with pharmaceutical industry so that innovative intellectual properties developed in a research laboratory can be effectively translated into clinical applications to precision oncology for cancer prevention diagnosis and novel therapy;
4. To disseminate the novel concepts, importance and significance of cancer and cancer research to lay people locally, domestically and internationally;
5. To assist fund-raising foundations or societies, including AACR, ACS or other cancer-related funding agencies, in local, domestic and international fund-raising activities;
6. To cohesively connect this organization with other national or international Anti-Cancer Society (CACA), Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) and others
7. To establish education, mentoring, teaching and career development programs for young generations of cancer researchers;
8. To promote international collaborations on cancer research, particularly with cancer researchers in Asia, including China, India, Japan, S Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and other areas.

ACACR Plan

1. To establish the structures, bylaws, and regulations of this organization in 2017;
2. To establish and stay in close communication with AACR and other cancer organizations;
3. To organize an annual meeting on cancer research either independently or associated with AACR as a satellite conference with invited distinguished speakers on cancer related topics;
4. To initiate possible communications and collaborations among ACACR members and international cancer researchers, such as those in China or other Asian countries and other regions.
5. To organize topic specific mini-symposiums each year either in the North American areas or in Asia aiming to stimulate intellectual communications and collaborations on cancer research.
6. To establish scholarship or fellowship funds supporting the outstanding young cancer researchers or horning the research interests of young generations, such as high school or college students or graduate students in the North American area or in Asia.
